Jeff Norton is a creator.   He is an award winning author, writer-director, producer, and the founder of Awesome.

Jeff’s debut novel METAWARS (Orchard Books) is a high-tech thriller and winner of the 2013 Rotherham Book Award. The first three books in the series (MetaWars 1.0: Fight For The Future, MetaWars 2.0: The Dead Are Rising, and MetaWars 3.0: Battle Of The Immortal) have published to rave reviews and the final instalment, MetaWars 4.0: The Freedom Frontier, publishes in early 2014. 

Under the banner of Awesome, Jeff is the creator of the PRINCESS PONIES series by Chloe Ryder (Bloomsbury) and the hit YA novel DRUMMER GIRL by Bridget Tyler (Templar).

Jeff is also a producer and filmmaker in multiple media.  For television, Jeff is currently producing the TV adaptation of Jon Scieszka’s best-selling book series TRUCKTOWN with Nelvana.  The series will premiere around the world in 2014.

As a filmmaker, Jeff is developing his first feature film, THE CALLING, with UK’s MultiStory Films. Jeff began writing and directing short films, including the comedy short THE FIRST ZOMBIE based on his popular zombie blog.  His new film, ABOVE WATER, is now playing major film festivals.

Before embarking on his own creativity, Jeff spent three years managing the literary estate of Enid Blyton, Britain’s best-loved author.

Before moving to the U.K., Jeff optioned and acquired the entertainment rights to the best-selling “Choose Your Own Adventure” books. With a vision to “entertain, engage, and educate” children, Jeff generated the original creative concept and led the development of this landmark property, turning a “second person” narrative into an award-winning feature.  “Choose Your Own Adventure: The Abominable Snowman”, staring William H. Macy, Frankie Muniz, and Felicity Huffman, debuted in 2006 to rave reviews.

Jeff previously consulted to Regent Entertainment in feature film creative development and to The Jim Henson Company.  Jeff began his Hollywood career in the mail room at International Creative Management (ICM) where he moved onto the desk of the head of the Motion Picture Literary Department, and also at Silver Pictures at Warner Bros.

Before entering the entertainment industry, Jeff was a marketing executive at Procter & Gamble where he launched Febreze and Dryel into Canada, ran the North American marketing campaign for P&G’s $500 million liquid dishwashing business, and spearheaded the partnership with the U.S. Fund For UNICEF.

Jeff studied Film Studies and Commerce at Queen’s University, Canada, and is a graduate of the Harvard Business School. He is a speaker at events such as The Children’s Media Conference, Power to the Pixel, literary festivals, and The Bookseller conferences.

Originally from Canada, Jeff moved to London from Los Angeles where he now lives with his wife and his two delightful (though sleep-depriving) young sons.

When he’s not writing, Jeff spending time with his young family, running on Hampstead Heath, tweeting, or blogging.
