What a treat to talk books with my friend Zibby Owens!
I first met Zibby at the orientation weekend before we both started Harvard Business School back in 2003. We bonded over our creative leanings (amid a sea of bankers) and since graduating, she has gone on to start an incredibly successful (and award-winning) podcast called ‘Moms Don’t Have Time To Read Books’ which has spurred a full-on media empire… the Zibbyverse. The Zibbyerse includes literary events, a publishing company (Zibby Books), her own wonderful books (a novel, a picture book, a memoir, and anthologies), and the most charming book store in Santa Monica…

I was lucky enough to be one of the first guests on her podcast back in 2018, promoting Alienated, when Zibby co-hosted with her son, Owen, and we had a blast talking about aliens and high school and yes, a high school for aliens.
This week, I was pleased to introduce Zibby to author Holly Smale and talk about our (long) journey to get Geek Girl green-lit from book to screen.
